Why YOU Should Start Blogging Today, As A Creative Professional. The No. 1 Reason To Start Blogging ASAP!

What is up folks? I got another post for your faces, and today’s topic is something that is very near and dear to me as it is something that I am attempting to do more in my own personal life; blogging. I truly believe that everyone* (maybe not everyone) should start blogging, whether that be in video format, or written like this one here. Blogging can do a lot to help boost your career and can be a very creative outlet for expression and connection with others just like you. But, I’m going to keep this one short, sweet, and to the point with THE BIGGEST REASON I THINK YOU SHOULD START BLOGGING TODAY. If you wish to build up your personal brand or if you wish to establish yourself as a go to person for knowledge in your industry, YOU NEED TO GET YOURSELF SOME EXPOSURE.

People ask all the time, how can they can get more exposure with little to no money, or how can they branch out their network. Blogging is the answer, and it is looking more and more attractive everyday as the barrier to entry into the blogosphere gets lower and lower. It used to be that you needed fancy equipment, and needed a connection that would publish your thoughts, but the internet (and rise of social media) has changed all that. Honestly, I feel like blogging may be the single most effective way to get more exposure for a) who you are and b) what you do with the least amount of hassle involved. Literally all you have to do* (there’s more too it if you want to maximize the potential of it, which you can learn if you follow some of my other posts/videos) is type out rational thoughts that contribute to the overall conversation in your field that brings value to another person, and share it with the world. Moreover, there are tons of websites out there that can host your blog for free if you’re just starting out with little money, and there are even paid options that grant you more flexibility.

However, the caveat of blogging is that you have to a) have something interesting to say, b) know what the hell you’re talking about, and c) put in the work. No one’s going to read/watch/stay for your blog if you don’t add anything to the conversation. PERIOD. There’s just waaaay too much noise out there to be uninteresting. They will close your tab in an instant, and go watch Netflix or something.

Likewise, if you don’t know what you’re talking about and are just pushing BS, no ones going to take you seriously and that’s just as bad. You want to build up a reputation as someone who says things of value and knows your shit, and the only way to do that is through practice (sense a theme here?). Keep in mind though that reputation building takes time. You cant hit one homerun and have everyone calling you the homerun king. You have to do it over and over and over and over and then people might start saying you’re decent at bat.

Blogging, vlogging, and putting yourself out there is NOT a short term scheme, however. This is all long term. If you think that you’ll start blogging in July and then by the next month people will chant your name as you walk through the streets you got another thing coming. But if you seriously put in the work and have the dedication to tough it out through the muk, then the results will speak for itself.

Put in the work. Get the results. And trust me, the work pays off bigtime.

But, that’s all for this one folks. If you liked this post be sure to share it with someone that you think could benefit from this information. I always ask this from y’all because I know that there is someone in your life that could benefit from what I’m saying. But on the other hand, if you disliked it, please, please, please, let me know why as I’m trying to provide the most value for you and your feedback goes a long way towards that. Also if you are interested in these kinds of blog posts, I would highly encourage subscribing to my YouTube channel as I post new videos weekly. Once again, thank you for sticking it out with me, my name is DeAngelo, and I’ll catch you folks in the next one. Peace!
